Food Stamps
•Click here to apply for Food Stamps
Grant is approximately $120 per individual based on income, ages and family demographics. There are no actual "food stamps" given, the funds are transferred electronically onto an EBT card on a monthly basis.
• Clients typically receive an initial certification for a period ranging between three and six months. When initial eligibility expires, clients will need to reapply. Continuing eligibility is based on income.
• Benefits are transferred to the client on a monthly basis. It is important that clients budget accordingly to ensure they will have funds available until their next monthly allotment is registered on the card. If all funds are expended earlier, there is nothing that can be done to "speed up" the next monthly allotment.
Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program
Administered through the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) of the Department of Agriculture. For additional information, please visit the FNS website
• WIC provides nutritious foods, nutrition counseling, and referrals to health and other social services to participants at no charge. Pregnant or postpartum women, infants, and children up to age 5 are eligible. They must meet income guidelines, a State residency requirement, and be individually determined to be at "nutrition risk" by a health professional.
