Transportation notes

• Fees: $2.50 exact change for a daily commute. If you have medicaid, you may go to Carnival, which is where many of the refugee families shop at the shopping complex at Abrams and Skillman, there you may purchase a bus pass for the month for $15.00. Otherwise a bus pass is anywhere between $25-$40 depending on whether you are a student or adult.
• Mentors can take refugees to appointments but are encouraged not to since it can slow down the process of self-reliance.
• In some cases, Medicaid can arrange transportation to doctor appointments but must be requested 10 days in advance of appointment. Click here to learn more about the Medical Transportation Program.
